A Micromart Smart Fridge cost $6,295 on October 3, 2026, or $5,995 each for three or more (pricing1). Every cabinet pays $60 a month for software plus 4% and $0.10 per transaction, and Micromart says you cannot use your own card terminal (FAQ4).

Orders go by email to Micromart’s sales team, and it ships only to the United States and Canada (FAQ4).

Prices and the lease

Cabinet Set temperature Buy, 1 unit Buy, 3+ units Lease, 36 months Buyout Delivery, per pricing page
Smart Fridge1 35°F $6,295 $5,995 $230/mo $300 2 weeks bought, 3 weeks leased
Smart Pantry2 66°F $6,295 $5,995 $230/mo $300 2 weeks bought, 3 weeks leased
Smart Freezer3 −20°F $6,995 Not listed $245/mo $700 5 weeks

Prices checked on October 3, 2026. Freight is extra on all three. The set temperatures come from the technical specs5, which say they are fixed at the factory and “cannot be changed in the field”. The pricing pages list a feature to “remotely switch an ambient pantry unit to a fridge and vice versa”. Ask which is true for the cabinet you order. The FAQ says lead times come from the sales team, so treat the delivery column as a guide.

The lease is a sub-lease6: Micromart leases the cabinets from CSC Leasing Co. under a master lease dated June 4, 2025, and sub-leases them to you. Terms worth reading before you sign:

  • Title stays with CSC Leasing for the whole term. You hold only a leasehold interest.
  • A payment more than five days late carries a late fee of 5% of the amount unpaid.
  • Your obligation to pay is “absolute and unconditional”, and you waive the right to cancel under Article 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code. Installation and insurance are at your expense.
  • The agreement is governed by Delaware law.

Micromart’s FAQ4 says you can pay off early with no penalty by paying the remaining balance plus the buyout. To be approved you need:

  • A registered business and vending operator permits.
  • A location with enough foot traffic. Micromart recommends 150 or more people on site a day.
  • A signed contract with the location for at least one year that auto-renews.
  • Business insurance with equipment coverage, which can be arranged after approval.

Micromart also offers financing through an unnamed third-party company. Terms are not published.

Fees

Upfront, on a purchase or a lease (FAQ4):

  • Freight: typically $400 to $800, depending on region.
  • Product pushers: $70 per shelf. Micromart calls them mandatory, and each cabinet has five shelves.
  • SIM card: $20 per cabinet.
  • Implementation fee: $60 per cabinet.
  • Inside delivery, with the cabinet pre-assembled to your planogram, is “an additional cost” that the FAQ says 95% of operators choose. The price is not published.

Ongoing:

  • Software: $60 a month per cabinet.
  • Transactions. The pricing pages1 say 4% + $0.10 per transaction. The FAQ4 says 4% + $0.10 on transactions under $8 and 4% + $0.15 over $8.
  • Cellular data. The SIM is the backup when site Wi-Fi or a wired connection drops, and the primary connection when there is neither. The FAQ puts the charge at 5 cents per transaction in two answers and “approximately 5 cents” in a third. The technical specs5 say only that a monthly fee applies.
  • Payouts are weekly. Amounts Micromart covers under Revenue Protect appear in the weekly payout.

On $500 of monthly sales across 200 purchases, all under $8, that comes to $60 + $20 + $20 = $100 on Wi-Fi, and $110 if every sale goes over cellular. Smart cooler monthly fees runs the same month through the other platforms.

How a sale is charged

The shopper taps “Pre-authorize”, pays by card or phone, and the door unlocks. On a card’s first use the terminal asks for a phone number for receipts. Micromart’s FAQ4 covers what happens next:

  • Hold. The operator sets the pre-authorization amount. Micromart recommends $10, which is the default. Pre-authorization holds compares other platforms’ amounts.
  • Blocked cards. Prepaid, anonymous, and other high-risk cards cannot open the door.
  • A basket bigger than the funds. Micromart makes “multiple attempts to charge the card”.
  • Revenue Protect. The FAQ says Micromart covers the transaction when a technical issue stops it capturing a payment, or when its sensors cannot detect the items accurately. The pricing page1 describes it more widely, as paying you for transactions that could not be settled, “such as card insufficient funds or technical issues”.
  • Human review. Micromart claims 99.5% sensor accuracy and sends suspicious transactions to a person for review.
  • Receipt. The shopper gets a text after closing the door and a link to an itemized receipt “within a few hours”.
  • Video. Operators cannot view footage but can request it for theft and other malicious incidents.
  • Power cuts. The lock stays engaged and nobody can open the cabinet. A backup battery keeps the temperature log.

The camera count differs between pages. The pricing pages list “4x high-speed cameras”, and the FAQ says “the system has three cameras”. How smart coolers detect items covers how camera systems fail and what that means for what you stock.

The Freezer’s pricing page repeats the Fridge’s 408 W and 4 kWh figures. Each cabinet has two power cables, 9 feet long with NEMA 5-15 plugs: one for the compressor, one for the electronics. The refrigerant is R290 (propane), and the specs warn against installing near open flames or in confined spaces.

The cabinets are for indoor use only, in rooms no warmer than 86°F and no more than 55% relative humidity. They need an inch of clearance at the sides and back and six inches on top. Every Micromart is a single-door unit. The FAQ puts capacity at 280 to 750 items depending on the product. The pricing pages say “378 coke cans”.

Warranty, delivery, and age verification

The pricing pages and the FAQ give different warranties:

  • Pricing pages2: 5 years parts and labor on the compressor, 3 years parts and labor on all other components.
  • FAQ4: 5 years on the compressor, 1 year on all other parts and labor.

Get the term written into your order. If a cabinet fails, the FAQ says Micromart dispatches a technician when one is needed. Support is by phone, chat, email, and WhatsApp, and it also answers your shoppers’ questions. Hours are not published.

Two delivery options are offered. Curbside leaves the pallet at the curb for you to unbox and set up. Inside delivery arrives pre-assembled, at an unpublished extra cost. The FAQ4 says every new operator gets training before the machine arrives.

Age verification is listed on the pricing pages1 as “Coming soon (ID scan, 3D facial scan)”, and student cards also as coming soon. The cabinets take no cash.

A vendor-published case study

Micromart’s case study10 of Delong Vending is written and hosted by Micromart, so read it as marketing. It says the operator, a former property manager, launched in June 2025 and runs 14 Micromart coolers across seven residential locations. To win sites he offered a $1,000 upfront signing bonus, a 5% revenue share, and five-year contracts. The problems it lists are connectivity in older buildings and a damaged lock, both fixed by Micromart’s support team, plus a break-in at a location without a Micromart. The case study gives no sales or profit figures; it quotes the operator saying his commissions are two to three, sometimes up to six times those of traditional vending contracts. He also runs two Cantaloupe Smart Stores.

The company

The contracting company is Micromart Inc., and its general terms7 name no head office. The home page8 says the cabinets are “Designed and built in Canada” and claims 2,500+ smart stores installed. A 2024 trade article called it Atlanta-based12 and quoted the CEO saying the technology came from KitchenMate, its food service division in Toronto. Micromart’s team page9 lists its CEO, Yang Yu, its COO, Aditya Bali, and its CTO, Arwid Bancevicius, as KitchenMate’s co-founders.

Micromart publishes a comparison page against Byte11. Treat its figures for Byte as a competitor’s claims; the Byte page puts them next to Byte’s own.

We have not run a Micromart machine. Smart coolers compared puts it alongside the other brands, and AI vending machines covers what camera coolers in general cannot handle.
